Successes ~ Transition House program

From time to time, we are asked about our Transition Home and how its faring and meeting its mission of providing a safe, stable housing for women — with and without children — enabling these heads of households to establish and achieve personal short- and long-term goals.

Here are some of our successes:

*  CAREER LAUNCHER:  Provided more than a year of shelter and life-skills coaching for a young single woman who, as a young adult, found herself homeless and unable to live with relatives.  She earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and is now earning a much-higher salary than she would have had she not enrolled in and completed the steps of the OFFKM program;

*  SHELTER NIGHTS (a count of the cumulative nights of sleep offered all individuals)

      ~  2016:  1,876 nights (for 10 families)

      ~  2015:  1,567 nights  (for four families)

      ~  2014:  1,289  (for eight families)

      ~  2013:  587 nights  (for four families)

*  RESOURCE CONNECTOR:  Served as a conduit to help connect our clients with community resources to help them improve their life situations and move toward self-sufficiency.
