The Cass County Transportation Authority is asking for a 0.25 mill levy to fund services such as Dowagiac Dial-A-Ride and Cass County Public Transit. These services are critical to many local residents, but there would also be a small property tax increase involved. Let’s Talk About Child Care!
In case you hadn’t heard, Cass County is very much in need of more high-quality child care programs. The Rural Child Care Innovation Program is hosting a Town Hall discussion about child care options in the area on Thursday, September 15 at 6:30-8 PM in Mathews Hall at the SMC Dowagiac campus. All who have a stake in the discussion are invited: care providers, parents and grandparents, community members, and more.
We really need the entire community to be represented at this discussion about successes, gaps, and challenges for child care in the area. Please come! Dinner will be served, and the event is free.
Best of all, Our Father’s Family Keeper Ministries will offer limited help with transportation. We have a 15-passenger van and can offer rides to at least some interested parents.
